Course Description

What is a "brand"?

Brands are often confused with logos in Sweden, but in reality branding is quite a wide term.

What is it and what is not?

Different areas to create a brand

For whom can we create a brand, and how do the different areas affect our focus?

Visual factors that affect a brand:

How small factors create strong emotions we are not even aware of.

We take a closer look at:

- Colours

- Forms

- Tones

- Fonts

- Pictures

- Layouts

Logo design

What is a logo? How many different types of logos are there and how do we choose which logo is suitable for which client? We create a logo for one of three companies.

Design of websites and apps

How do we create a nice, but also user-adapted design for websites and apps?

What do’s and don’ts are there to keep in mind? We create a front page for a website and an app.

Packaging design

In the production of a product packaging, there are quite a few unexpected factors to consider. We take a closer look at each, and how they affect our design. We package one of three products.

Design for marketing

Our design may vary slightly depending on the type of marketing and platform. We study each area and create our own marketing for one of six products.

A case study:

How companies nationally and internationally have succeeded and failed with their brand design - and why.
